Job Summary

This role is responsible for managing global employment compliance by overseeing legal content creation and curating a comprehensive knowledge base on international labor and tax laws. Serving as a trusted legal advisor, this position supports internal teams, clients, and partners to maintain compliance with evolving employment regulations worldwide. The Legal Advisor will actively collaborate across departments to align legal insights with the company’s strategic growth, ensuring all compliance initiatives support broader business goals under the direction of the CEO.

Main accountabilities

1. Legal Support

  • Conducts legal research and provides advisory on global employment compliance.
  • Reviews, drafts, and revises legal documents (contracts, clauses, addendums) for global HR compliance.
  • Responds to clients’ and partners’ inquiries on legal matters, offering comprehensive advice.

2. Global Compliance Navigator (GCN)

  • Creates and updates legal content for the Global Compliance Navigator, focusing on:
    • Labor Law sections (including updates to employment regulations).
    • Tax Law sections (with a focus on employer/employee contributions and Writes additional legal subsections as required
  • Writes additional legal subsections as required (e.g., non-competition clauses).

3. Knowledge Base Development

  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive knowledge base on compliant global employment practices.
  • Completes and updates the knowledge base regularly to reflect the most accurate employment practices across the globe.

4. Global Payroll Calculator (GPC)

  • Provides ad hoc advisory on global taxation rules and payroll requirements.

5. Internal Collaboration and Updates

  • Collaborates with the Product Manager and other internal product owners to ensure timely content updates.
  • Communicates legislative changes to senior management and relevant teams, ensuring compliance knowledge is embedded throughout the organization.

Oversees the integration of content into marketing strategies, working with the team to determine which content should be free or gated.

Requirements to successful candidates

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Compliance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree or professional certification in legal compliance, international law, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in compliance, legal advisory, or a related field, with a focus on global employment, labor law, and tax compliance.
  • Experience in multinational environments dealing with employment regulations across various countries, especially in global professional employment organizations (PEO) or HR outsourcing companies.
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and legal documents, particularly those concerning global employment and HR compliance.
  • Proven ability to perform legal research and provide advisory services on complex legal and tax issues across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects related to global compliance initiatives, such as managing knowledge bases or developing legal content.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration, particularly working with marketing, legal, and product teams.
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal English.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office, project management tools, and other relevant technologies.
